  • When you first meet the examiner, if you feel nervous, you don’t make eye contact and you look at the floor the whole time then you cannot do well on IELTS even if your English is pretty good so It’s very important to present yourself with confidence as if you think you are going to do well, you are going to do a lot better and if you think you are going to do badly, you are probably going to do badly so always think you are going to do well and be confident as part 1 is just a warm-up to make you comfortable with the examiner. The IELTS coaching in Mohali make their trainees very confident so that they easily make eye contact with the examiner.

  • Focus on fluency as fillers and pauses are not allowed while speaking.

  • Take care of grammatical errors as the more grammar mistakes you make, the more scores you will reduce.

  • You should wear a smile while speaking as body language is actually very important.

  • Don’t look at your feet, don’t look at your hands, look at the examiner only but you don't have to stare at him/her, just look at him/her with a smiling face when you talk.

  • Another thing a lot of students forget is they don’t act excited when answering the questions and they don’t score well so always show your excitement while speaking as if you seem excited you will better.

  • Don’t use simple, easy, boring and low level words. The IELTS coaching in Mohali enhance the level of vocabulary of their students. They provide special vocabulary class.

  1. Example: I like basketball because it is good and I don’t like volleyball because it is bad. As these words ‘good and bad’ are too easy so try to find vocabulary of high level.

  2. Example: When you are asked about ‘food’ then you can use ‘cuisine’ and when the question is about your ‘friend’ then you can use the word ‘acquaintance’ or when the question asked is about your likes then instead of saying ‘I like’ you can say that ‘I prefer/I enjoy/I love.

So, try to come up with different vocabularies for different topics.

  • Expand your answers.

  1. Example-Examiner asks you the question like-Do you like playing sports?

You-Yes/No.

Now the examiner will not be able to judge your English with just ‘yes or No’ so you have to give longer answers.

  • Final tip of the Part 1 is PRACTICE-PRACTICE and PRACTICE.
