A noun is a word that refers to the person, place, thing, animal, quality or idea. It is just a name of a person, animal or thing, not the actual person, animal or thing.

There are several types of Noun:-
Common Noun
Proper Noun
Collective Noun
Abstract Noun
Concrete Noun
Countable Noun
Uncountable Noun
Now we will discuss everything one by one:
Common Noun: - A common noun is a noun which refers to the people or things in general.
Example: girl, boy, city, country, etc.
Proper Noun: - A proper noun is a noun which refers to the unique entities.
Example-Mohan (person), Mohali (place), Books (thing), etc.

Collective Noun: - A collective noun is a name that can be given to a collection of a number of people or things.
Example: Class, Jury, Army, etc.

Abstract Noun: - An abstract noun refers to those things which do not physically exist. We can only feel these things.
Example-Love, truth, color.
I was full of fear last night. (Fear-Abstract noun)
I love my Country. (Love- Abstract Noun)
Concrete Noun: - Concrete noun refers to those things which physically exist and the things which we can see, touch, hear, taste and smell.
Example: Dog, coffee, tree, building, etc.
Countable Noun: - Countable nouns refer to those things which we can easily count.
Example: books, chairs, tables, etc.
Uncountable Noun: - Uncountable noun refers to those things which we can’t count.
Example: water, furniture, food, etc.
